Churches welcome gay bans PDF  | Print |  E-mail

It doesn't come as a surprise to me anymore about the stuff from George Pell etc, but what does surprise me is the lengths people with go to to use a system that is meant to be helping people have equality is being used against people by the Almighty wealthy few to get their way, its about POWER.

And was does surprise me too is that whilst The Anglican and The Catholic churches in Australia still are both discriminating against people, the very people they are supposed to be helping.
Doesn't all persons qualify for assistance from Charity organisations regardless, but to qualify for assistance the only requirement is the need factor? If you are cold and hungry, don't Charities help? If you have a need for shelter, don't Charities help? Are not Gay couples and singles people susceptible to retrechment from work? Are they not also victims of Economic recessions/ downturns? Do not Gay people get sick and need assistance?

Charity organisation receive give amounts of Governmnt, that is tax-payer funded assistance each and every year to for charity services to provide such services, and yet these religious charities enforce a discrimination based on sexuality as to whom qualifies or not. Now that is not fair and whom should be taken to court over this, none other than those Charities themselves for abusing the system, that is fraudulent activties at the expense of the tax-payer! It makes sense to me.

An answer to this is to take the money out of religious based organisations and out that into non-denominational organisations such as The Smith Family. Then we would see a truer and fairer distrubition of welfare and charity assistance in this country.

If you are allowed to draw the line between whom does and does not recieve assistance for basics such as food and shelter and such needs, then you are saying that by default you are making second and third class citizens in a country that does not need to make such citizens. Our population is very low and there should be plenty to go around but why oh why does it have to meted out with a religiously based miserliness? What are you going to do, storehouse the lot, what the heck for? Money in a bank account is wasted, it serves no purpose other than to Big-Wig yourself with a few mates who are awe struck by such things. Same with food and assistance, and food goes off and people who are turned away from assistance will get angry and take such steps to go to Anti-discrimination court to try to get equality, just to get what they are actually entitled to under the LAW of Australia!

It is a sad time when Church activiely says "Dear Child, No, you must go hungry!" How do you reconcile this to a child that needs? How do you justify that Anglican and Catholic Churches of Australia? Where does it say "Thou shalt Deny children food and shelter?" It doesn't, it never has and it never will. And its is time you stopped playing a POWER game with the lives of innocent peoples, peoples in need. If in time you swapped the "I have all the POWER" and turn it into "We can and will help without dsicrimination. " Then we can and will all move forward, for the better. However you show that contempt is the rule.

Here is another case such as Wayne Morgan spoke about in his address at the Aids Action Coucil AGM just recently ... the steady erosion of the Anti-discrimination legislation in Australia and the abuse of a system by some that is meant to protect everybody.

There is no cause to celebrate, Mr George Pell. There is not cause to celebrate Anglican and Catholic Churches Australia. You should all hang your heads in shame for this. You should take a long look at those statues and icons in your places of worship, see how the Lord Christ is mainly depicted as being pious and giving and forgiving, even in some instances crying for the suffering of humans, afterall wasn't he sent to Earth from Heaven for the Salvation of all human's?!

You need to take a very long and hard look at what you are there for and if you cannot see that you do harm, then I feel dismayed for you, for there is nothing worse than the inability to see and criticise oneself and find betterment through this. That is the struggle of humans, but I doubt that you have the guts to actually be that!

There are always victims, why do they have to be children. And why, do some have to celebrate this?
