djpierrefitchPierre Fitch set to be the hottest DJ on the gay scene as well as on your TV set!

Fitch Media Inc. is currently going through an entire re-branding with its new marketing and public relations strategy team. A complete new image is being launch today, unveiling DJ Pierre Fitch’s totally redesigned official logo, a podcast on iTunes and a website redesign contest. While Pierre Fitch is going through extensive training in order to produce his own music, he still performs in clubs all around the world. The famous DJ recently performed at Denver (CO)’s After Pride Party, but is currently preparing a Canadian Tour. In the mean time, you may subscribe for free to his bi-weekly updated podcast on iTunes, accessible through http://djpierrefitch.com/podcast.

The new logo provides a fresh look while still reflecting Pierre Fitch’s groovy personality. To go along with the new image, a complete review of DJ Pierre Fitch’s website must be done. We would like the new website to be more competitive in the music industry. To this matter, we are now launching the “DJ Pierre Fitch Website Redesign Contest”, in which the designer of the selected new website design will win a bundle of prizes, including an iPad 2, a pair of DJ headphones autographed by Pierre Fitch and more. You may access more detailed information about the contest at http://djpierrefitch.com/contest.

Grindr-BlackBerrySocial networking giant Grindr announces highly anticipated expansion to BlackBerry

Grindr Xtra, the app with the world’s largest all male mobile location-based network, is now available for BlackBerry devices.  As of March 2011, BlackBerry devices share a nearly equal part of the market with iPhone and Android. According to data released earlier this year by the Nielsen Company, 27% of smartphone users in the United States use BlackBerry, 27% use iPhone OS and 29% use Android. With this latest release, Grindr is now available on the top three smartphone platforms and reaches over 80% of all smartphone users. Now BlackBerry users can join the Grindr network and chat with other Grindr users across all platforms - BlackBerry, Apple iOS, and Android.

Covered in major media outlets ranging from CNN.com and the New York Times to the UK’s London Evening Standard and the Guardian/Observer, Grindr is a revolutionary social networking tool that uses location-based and cellular technologies to allow users to locate like-minded gay, bi, or curious men nearby, view profiles and photos, and instantly connect via chat. Since launching in March 2009 for Apple iOS devices and March 2011 for Android devices, Grindr has grown into a network of over 1.9 million users in 192 countries worldwide, currently adding 8,000 new members every day.

“BlackBerry users have been asking for Grindr since the very beginning, and we’ve been working hard to meet their needs,” says Joel Simkhai, founder and CEO of Grindr. “We are thrilled to now be able to offer Grindr Xtra to BlackBerry users and give them the fully-functional experience they’ve been asking for.”

Grindr Xtra for BlackBerry offers users special features like keyboard shortcuts optimized for the BlackBerry operating system and comes with no ad banners for an unobstructed view of the guys around you. Users can expect a truly unique and special experience, just like Grindr Xtra on other platforms.

"BlackBerry is a unique ecosystem both culturally and technically," adds Scott Lewallen, Grindr's Creative Director. "We designed the Grindr Xtra interface to speak to BlackBerry users while keeping consistent with our brand and the Grindr experience."

Corbin Fisher VS BitTorrent | Print |  E-mail

Corbin_Fisher_GayCorbin Fisher Has Begun Suing BitTorrent Users Who Downloaded Its Adult Films.

And so begins Corbin Fisher’s mass lawsuit against alleged illegal file sharers, an unknown number of which may be closeted gay teens about to be outed (and prepared to kill themselves if that happens). In a copyright infringement case filed on Monday against 95 John Does, the porn company’s parent Liberty Media accuses the as-yet-unidentified BitTorrent users not just of stealing Corbin Fisher’s material, but purposefully acting in concert to illegally share the files. That’s because the way BitTorrent works — where users download a file in pieces, and can upload those pieces to other users on the BitTorrent “swarm” as soon as they’re received — effectively guarantees, in the words of the lawsuit, a “collective and interdependent” effort to participate in the “unalwful reproduction and distribution” of Liberty’s movies.

The message — don't steal kids... More at source: gayagenda.com

Kings-SpeechOscar-nominated film The King's Speech shared a location with a popular pornographic gay movie, it has emerged.

The office where speech therapist Lionel Logue (Geoffrey Rush) trained King George VI (Colin Firth) to beat his stammer also served as a backdrop to a hit XXX film called Snookered, according to Metro. Images from both Snookered and The King's Speech have been posted on website QueerClick.com – and it appears the backgrounds in the films are identical.

The London-based location, in Portland Place, is often used by adult entertainment site UK Naked Men, as well as many other film and music video producers, photographers and artists. In fact, the Amy Winehouse video for her single Rehab was also filmed there. Prowler, the UK's leading lifestyle chain for gay men and women, are the exclusive European stockists of Snookered, which is also sold under the name Up The Aristocracy. Jay Kuilder, the company's online retail and distribution manager, told PinkPaper.com:  "Snookered is one of our most successful titles, with strong sales throughout the UK and Europe.

"The fact that it shares a film location with Britain's biggest movie of 2010 illustrates the calibre of our products and their production values."

The King's Speech leads the nominations for this year's Academy Awards with 12 nods, including best film and best actor for Colin Firth. London's Prowler Soho, based at 5-7 Brewer Street, is open Monday-Friday 11am-10pm, Saturday 10am-10pm and Sunday 12noon-8pm.

Return Of XY Magazine? | Print |  E-mail

xymagazineLast summer, with Peter Ian Cummings, the owner of twink mag XY, in bankruptcy, the magazine's mailing list (undoubtedly filled with underage and closeted names and addresses, and the old men who loved them) was expected to be sold to the highest bidder at auction. Thankfully that didn't happen, and XY's database was reportedly destroyed. But now comes word that XY is going to live once again.

Rising from the ashes of 2007 when it was shuttered, the XY name is making a return, according to "a small group of former staff members," who emailed us to say they are "overjoyed to announce the return of the only national glossy magazine for young gay men. XY published stories by gay teens along with survival guides, coming out stories, lusty fashion shoots, and listings on local support groups for teens across the States. We’re bringing it back for those who loved its bold, honest stories and photos all those years ago. We’re bringing it back for a new generation who will be exposed to the same surprises and pulse-racing content that made XY legendary."

Indeed, checking XYMag.com reveals a short update from Jan. 3 — the first new update since November 2008 — from Kevin Alonzo, Greg Frederick, and Eric Bogs. The Facebook page is active. There are calls for contributors. It's unclear how a spattering of former editors have scored the XY trademark, brand name, and website from bankruptcy court (did it come cheap?), but make no mistake, XY is under new management and no longer affiliated with Cummings nor his old company. (That's why your XY subscriptions won't be valid.) And I'm not sure how realistic it is to think they can resume running a print magazine in this climate. (Maybe by selling XY.com and using the proceeds for start up costs?) According to their FAQ, "We are hoping to have XY50 ready for readers in 2011," so don't count 'em out yet.
