Being twin brothers, David and Paul look almost the same - except in the eyes of the law.
That's because one twin is straight, and the other gay. That means one brother can marry his partner, but the other cannot.
Today, on Valentine's Day, Paul and David star in our new video (produced with our partners, Australian Marriage Equality) to share a simple message: it's time for marriage equality for same-sex couples.
Don't miss this Valentine's video -- and don't let your friends make up their mind about marriage equality without seeing it!
This year we're closer than ever to recognising same-sex marriage, and removing discrimination from our laws.
Just days ago, Deputy Opposition Leader Julie Bishop broke ranks with her party's current stance, saying she has "an open-mind" on whether to vote in favour of marriage equality.1 And MPs across the country are canvassing the views of their constituents before further parliamentary debate this year.
But in all the political debate, something gets lost: the relationships and real people for whom marriage equality matters. It's time to inject a dose of reality back into the debate - because changing the law begins with changing hearts and minds.
Twin brothers David and Paul have courageously stepped forward to tell their story in new TV ads. Working with our friends at Australian Marriage Equality, we can raise enough to put their story on air across the nation. Will you get behind them?
