jesus-luz-madonna-boyfriend-1He's pretty to look at, and soon enough, model Jesus Luz may be entertaining his fans’ ears, as well.

According to the U.K.’s Sun newspaper, Madonna’s steamy Brazilian boyfriend has signed a record deal with the legendary singer’s record label, Warner Bros., and will release a single by this summer. Jesus’ first song, "We Came From Light," will allegedly be hitting airwaves in May.

From popcrunch.com

Jesus Luz — Madonna’s on again/off again — has landed a recording contract with the singer’s former label Warner Bros., a new report claims.

Jesus has allegedly landed a two-album deal with the label Madonna left last year after more than 25 years.

The 23-year-old Brazilian, who has been dating the pop queen for a year, recently began showing off his DJ skills by spinning at exclusive parties. Now the Material Girl is helping Luz craft his career in the industry by encouraging her longtime collaborator Victor Calderone to remix Luz’s tracks, according to The Sun.

A tipster tells the publication: “Madonna really wants Jesus’ career to take off. She’s been… putting him in contact with as many of her influential pals as she can. She’s worked with Victor for a very long time and he understands just what she likes. Having him rejig Jesus’ tracks will give them a cool cachet which is essential to building a clubland buzz.”

Jesus’ debut single “We Came From Light,” is due for release in May.

dannii-minogueThe Buzz was in an SMS fervour the other morning as the news broke about pop diva and all-round superstar Dannii Minogue being ‘with child’.  For those of you of a certain age, you’ll remember Dannii as the teenage tear-away of the 1980s who brought ‘uber-cool’ to the general daggy-ness that was Young Talent Time.  Her talent and humour and fabulousness were palpable, and her fall-short career trajectory is a very real indictment as to what a bad divorce will do to someone’s confidence and self-esteem, famous or otherwise.

But how wonderful to see that all that drama is well and truly behind her, and what an inspiration to see that at 38 she’s found true love and happiness with major hottie, former model and English rugby league star, Kris Smith and now has a little Dannii on the way.  Her public profile is at an all-time high as an X-Factor judge in the UK, and now this news must is very, very exciting for all Minogues and Minogue-like fans.

Personally I’m hoping for a little girl.  Another little princess to watch learn and grow and sing and dance, and maybe someday in the future date other celebrity babies like Sparrow Madden or little Levi McConaughey.  Cute, no?  Yes.  So cute!

Simon-CowelWell, it seems like every month there is a new scandal with American Idol.  Now there’s the news that the show’s Executive Producer and all-round bad guy, Simon Cowell, has confirmed that this current season will be his last.  Forget Kyle getting ousted from Australian Idol – THIS is BIG!  Simon was instrumental in bringing the English franchise over to the US and, as I’ve said before, the show is a juggernaut over there.

The news is that Simon is now bringing that other English franchise, The X-Factor, over to US and is currently in negotiations with FOX.  X-Factor USA promises to be bigger and better, according to Simon, and will no doubt bring him even more cash, given that the concept and producer credit belongs to him solely, as opposed to Idol, which is primarily Simon Fuller’s beast.

All reports seem to indicate that Idol will not finish up, but continue to run without him, which is surprising to say the least.  Simon and his bad haircut are the lifeblood of the show and without him it’s fair to say that it really will suffer.

How will this affect Ellen DeGeneres and her new role as Idol judge?  Hmmm… hard to say.  Let’s stay glued to the rest of this season, currently airing here on FOX8, for any hints to the show’s future.

Elton_JohnElton John : 'There's A Lot Of Hate In The World'

In this week's issue of PARADE, Elton John talks to Dotson Rader about the transition from his raucous rock-star years to becoming a committed philanthropist. In the web exclusive below, the music legend opens up about the life-threatening downside of fame, his partner David Furnish and his take on Jesus.

Making early mistakes in love.

"I'd always choose someone younger. I wanted to smother them with love. I'd take them around the world, try to educate them. One after another they got a Cartier watch, a Versace outfit, maybe a sports car. They didn't have jobs. They were reliant on me. I did this repeatedly. In six months they were bored and hated my guts because I'd taken their lives and self-worth away. I hadn't intended to."

Love and drugs.
"Just about every relationship I ever had was involved with drugs. It never works. But I always had to be with someone, good or bad, otherwise I didn't feel fulfilled. I'd lost the plot."

It's all or nothing when it comes to drugs.
"For some people a gram of cocaine can last a month. Not me. I have to do the lot, and then I want more. At the end of the day, all it led to was heartache."

Julianne-MooreJulianne Moore seems to be everywhere these days — much to our delight.

The Advocate caught up with the very busy actress recently and, among other things, she shared her thoughts on recent lesbian roles, including playing a lesbian in The Private Lives of Pippa Lee and The Kids Are All Right. On whether she is drawn to lesbian parts because the “sexual inclination” differs from hers: Not necessarily sexual inclination but certainly something different temperament-wise. I was very attracted to playing Kat in Pippa Lee because she’s very tough and inscrutable.

On Kat’s hair style: My mullet? I chose that mullet, man! It was a half-wig. I was going for a Jane Fonda in Klute thing.

On responsibility for respectfully representing the LGBT community in her roles:

Lisa Cholodenko and I talked about that a lot with The Kids Are All Right. It was important for her not to make a politically correct movie … that idea of being PC about everything is no longer appealing to her. Thankfully, I really do believe that we’re past all that. You don’t want to be so careful about sexuality that it becomes precious.
On what drew her to The Kids Are All Right:

I’ve always loved Lisa’s work … After High Art, I ran into her at some “Women in Film” thing, and I said, “Hey, why didn’t I see that script? You should’ve sent that to me!”

I liked how The Kids Are All Right presented a gay family as a regular family. It’s about two women who’ve been together since college, have children they love, and have the same kind of stresses as any couple.

The Bass Loves The Gays! | Print |  E-mail

Natalie Bassingthwaighte is a good egg. Why, she pens books that help young women boost their self-esteem! She contributed a song to an album that raised money for Beyond Blue (although even The Bass agrees that the less said about the song, the better…) which is a worthy cause indeed! And now? She’s getting behind a celebration of The Gays.

Straight girl and all-round entertainer Natalie Bassingthwaighte is a darling of the gay community and yesterday paid some thanks by fronting a new awareness campaign – which is actually a celebration of progress rather than a whinge about a lack of it.

Uh-oh, I’m annoyed already. Not by anything Nat Bass has done, but rather that the Daily Telegraph felt the need to inform us that Nat is a “straight girl” before congratulating her on celebrating the progress made by the gay community. Is it normally assumed that someone who supports gay rights is a flaming queer? Not in my world.
