Robbie Williams has premiered his new video online, an unashamedly homoerotic tribute to Brokeback Mountain. The duet with Take That bandmate, Gary Barlow, entitled Shame is a country-styled pop song and the lyrics, written by Robbie, talk about the openly hostile and very public feud the two had going since Robbie left Take That in 1995. Both parties have patched up their differences over the past year and are now firm friends, openly joking about their quarreling during an interview yesterday on the UK's Radio One.
The wonderfully tongue-in-cheek video features Gary and Robbie gazing at each other furtively across a dancefloor, and flirting romantically by a swimming hole before stripping off their shirts in front of one another, and climbing the rocks to contemplate jumping into the great unknown... www.robbiewilliams.com
The new Smurf film will star gay boy Neil Patrick Harris who also introduces this 'The Smurfs Teaser Trailer' In typical Smurfs fashion it’s short, sweet, and really blue. Take a look.
Harris has confirmed his babies-to-be via Twitter: "So, get this: David and I are expecting twins this fall. We're super excited/nervous/thrilled. Hoping the press can respect our privacy..."
Neil Patrick Harris is going to have his hands full come fall. E! News has exclusively learned that the ubiquitous actor and his longtime partner, David Burtka, are going to become the parents of twins, via a beautiful surrogate, this October.
At least the dads are allowed to celebrate with a champagne toast! A source tells E! that the happy couple have put baby shower plans in motion, as if Harris' chance of winning three Emmys this month wasn't already enough to celebrate!
Burtka, a chef and actor who has guest-starred on How I Met Your Mother, was just seen with his multitalented beau last weekend after Harris directed a production of Rent at the Hollywood Bowl. Read more: http://au.eonline.com
It’s all about Scissor Sisters right now, right? I mean EVERYONE I know is losing it over the brand new album Night Work, which was produced in collaboration with none other than Kylie and Madonna’s producer Stuart Price. Disco city! And their recent Aussie tour was a resounding success with all parties blown away by an extraordinary energy the band creates onstage. It’s such a shame they didn’t make it to Canberra, but reports from the Sydney gigs would have you believe it was tantamount to a religious experience.
In what has to be one of the cleverest and most outrageous promotional tie-ins, Jake Shears, the band’s homo-licious lead singer, put up a personal profile on the website rentboy.com, advertising the album and subsequently himself. Any of you not familiar with the webpage (or just pretending you don’t know about it!) rentboy.com is for anyone interested in locating members of the oldest profession, and according to it’s homepage it lays claim to being ‘the world’s largest gay escort and massage site’. Jake’s ‘stats’ cleverly relate to the album’s release and the band’s tour dates (‘currently serving Berlin’, at time of writing) and the photos are of him semi-naked, with just a towel to cover his modesty, and it should be said are really very hot. Hot enough to get your average punter to go to iTunes and download the Night Work album — $11.95 according to the rentboy profile.
He can suck my blood any day. Xavier Samuel, 25, is an experienced actor who most recently starred as a gay Australian surfer named Fergus in the movie “Newcastle”, which gave Xavier a lot of big screen exposure in more ways than one.
The SMH reported that he's new role in Twilight sees him play a "newborn vampire" who joins a plot to murder Bella, played by Kristen Stewart.
Samuel, 25, won the role less than a week after arriving in Los Angeles to audition. The actor, who was raised in Adelaide, watched Twilight on the plane to the US. "I really enjoyed it," he said yesterday.
"When friends of mine heard that I was going to audition for [the new movie], they were really excited. It's amazing that I have this opportunity put in front of me."
Samuel, who alos performed in the Australian thriller Roadtrain and the horror film The Loved Ones before trying his luck in Hollywood, is ready for the fan hysteria that surrounds Stephenie Meyer's books and the movie adaptations.
"Obviously a lot of people really engage with the material and for a good reason," he said. "It's exciting fiction and everyone loves vampires, right?"
Twilight was a hit in cinemas last year, making stars of Stewart and Robert Pattinson, who plays the brooding vampire Edward. The first sequel, New Moon, will be released in November.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Eclipse centres on a choice that Bella must make between Edward and a werewolf played by Taylor Lautner.
Samuel has a theory about why so many people are interested in vampires.
"I guess there's something intriguing about the notion of eternal love," he said. "And they're very sexual."
