After viewing the videos for herself, President Dilma Rousseff of Brazil will ban sex education videos depicting gay and lesbian video scenes. The educational videos, originally intended to overcome homophobic amongst the country, were deemed “unsuitable for youngsters,” according to reports from the BBC.

The removal of the sex education videos come in wake of protest from evangelical church groups who threatened to stop existing or upcoming legislation unless the films’ distribution was immediately stopped.

President Rouseff decided to remove the educational videos after deciding they “did not offer an objective picture of homosexuality.” But as a part of the process to stop distribution, Brazil deemed the removal of the videos as “anti-homophobia kits”.

Opponents of the sex education tapes say the videos encouraged homosexual behavior, but gay and lesbian campaigners have diligently opposed their removal. Supporters of the LGBT community explain that removing the videos will contribute to serious concerns over properly educating youth on sex education.

In response to President Rousseff, LGBT supporter and congressman Jean Wyllys explains he will “urge all gay people not to vote for her again” if the President does not change her mind and reintroduce the sex education videos into classrooms across Brazil. Source: http://lgbtweekly.com
