The ACT Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Intersex and Queer Ministerial Advisory Council provides strategic advice to the ACT Government on issues affecting LGBTIQ+ communities in the ACT. LGBTIQ+ is used respectfully to include all people of diverse sex, gender, variations of sex characteristics or sexual orientation.
The plus symbol is a reminder that the acronym is not intended to limit this to those who are lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans and gender diverse, intersex and/or queer.

We are looking for new members to connect, contribute, engage, and lead areas of advocacy in our diverse LGBTIQ+ communities. These are important roles to convey the voices of community on key issues and directly influence the work of government.

We are also holding a community info session on the 9th of February 2023 to provide an opportunity for people to hear from current members about the role they play within the Council and learn more about what it takes to be a Council member.
