GAY ANNUAL EVENTS IN CANBERRA

SpringOut Fairday - November each year
SpringOut Fairday is Canberra's LGBT community day. The community comes out to play in the grounds of the AIDS Action Council (Westlund House) this Saturday for the annual Spring Out Fair Day. Held every October / November at The grounds of Westlund House (map). Gordon Street, Acton

The annual Fairday is a marvellous day out for the whole family, bring your kids, bring your pets. Sunshine, great stalls, beautiful people, relaxed atmosphere. What could be more pleasant for a Saturday afternoon in Spring? Fairday 2010 will include a drag king and queens, performances by local artists and the Canberra Gay and Lesbian Qwire, a children's treasure hunt and - back for another year - the ever popular Pet Parade!

Fairday-Heart

Celebrate our community at SpringOut Fairday

Saturday 5 November 2011 12 noon to 5pm

at Westlund House 16 Gordon Street Acton

SpringOut Fairday is one of the largest and highest profile LGBT community events in Canberra. It is an inclusive event that celebrates the diversity, colour and vibrancy of Canberra. SpringOut Fairday will be held on the lawns of Westlund House. We're expecting an even bigger crowd than last year - don't miss it for anything!

There will be tons of stalls from businesses and community groups. It will be a great day to find out what is going on in the Canberra queer community, as well as pick up some great gifts. Lots of great food including delicious cakes and sweet things, gourmet ice-cream, of course a sausage sizzle, cold drinks and hot coffee!

Entertainment Includes:

  • Hosted by Johnathan Davis
  • Canberra Gay and Lesbian Qwire: preview their upcoming summer concert in December
  • The always wonderful Julie Maynard
  • The début performance at Fairday of Miss Tammy Paks
  • Everyone's favourite - the Pet Parade. Keep an eye out for the online registration and great prizes donated by Pet Barn at the Belconnen Markets
  • Raffle: Buy tickets for a chance to win a relaxation treatment voucher donated by Clear Day Therapy and some other great prizes to be announced

In addition to the great performers we have this year; we want to encourage local artists and performers to showcase their talents. We still have some limited time slots for additional performers. For those interested contact Dany on 6257 2855.
