The Spirituality Church of Canberra
The Church was created over 5 years ago from the combination of the Southside Spiritualist Church at Hughes and a need to offer uplifting, non-traditional and healing services for those disenchanted by mainstream religion.
The Southside Church was admirably led by the wonderful Elsie and Arnold Brownell for over three decades, until their retirement 8 years ago which saw Rev. Janet Adams step up to lead their Church for two further years.
The Church's evolution has been welcomed by many, and we are seeing increasing numbers of families coming from traditional worship to experience the Peace in our space.
We gather teachings and prayer from many wisdom sources, including native American, Celtic, African, Hindu, Aboriginal, Buddhist, traditional Spiritualism, earth religion and The Course in Miracles.
A typical Service includes a Speaker with a spiritual or personal focus, a short Tibetan Bell Mindfulness meditation, joyous songs rather than hymns, the Insight of the Day reading, a healing meditation and regular mediumship or channelled guidance from a guest on platform.
Services begin at 7 pm, with healing services available from 645 pm. Service ends around 815 pm, with the invitation to enjoy some of the best beverages and cakes in town, linger and connect with like-minded souls.
The Spirituality Church of Canberra, led by Pastor Lucy Baker, is run entirely as a volunteer effort, with the 25-strong team comprising of health and wellbeing practitioners and professionals from all walks of life.
