Qwire's upcoming anniversary concert, "Singing Out With Pride" will be an afternoon of uplifting music, heartwarming stories, and exuberant performances, say's Leanne Linmore, Qwire's Assistant Musical Director.

"The show will feature an eclectic repertoire of material. There will be nostalgia and personal stories as well as high-quality music. You can expect a good variety of songs and a wonderful time".

Qwire's assistant Musical Director, Lachlan Snows, adding;

"The concert's real heart is that the majority of pieces we'll be singing have been chosen by Qwire members, including our founding singers. You'll also hear short stories of why particular songs mean so much to those who have chosen them. This will imbue even more meaning into already fabulous pieces of music".

An exciting highlight of the anniversary show will be a guest appearance by renowned gay folk singer Judy Small, who has been a staunch ally and supporter of Qwire since its very beginnings.

One of Qwire's first performances was supporting Judy at Canberra's iconic legendary performance venue, Tilley's in Lyneham. Her presence promises to add some extra magic.

'Singing Out with Pride' which is also part of the SpringOut Festival promises to be a memorable celebration of Qwire's rich history and a reminder of the importance of community connection, embracing diversity and finding our voices – both in song and in life. Qwire's future is bright as it continues to weave a rich tapestry of voices, identities, and experiences into Canberra's vibrant LGBTIQ+ community.
