In what looks like a scene in from Margaret Atwood novel A handmade's Tale, after a significant overhaul by state Republicans in Florida, a college in Sarasota has discarded hundreds of books, many of which contained LGBTQ+ and other progressive themes.

Georgian parliament proceeds with anti-LGBTIQ legislation

The legislation, proposed by the ruling Georgian Dream Party, includes prohibitions on the "propaganda" of same-sex relationships and gender reassignment surgery. If passed, these measures would also outlaw Pride events and public displays of the LGBT rainbow flag. The bills received majority support; however, they must still pass two more readings before becoming law.


Good News! Thailand recognises same-sex marriage

The bill passed with 130 votes in favour and only four against. Although it still needs the king’s endorsement, this is considered a formality, and the law will take effect 120 days after being published in the royal gazette. Thailand will be the third place in Asia to allow same-sex marriage, following Taiwan and Nepal.
