Canberra’s Rebus Theatre is inviting LGBTQIA+ young people aged 12-17 to take part in Acting Out: On Screen, an inclusive creative program running during the upcoming school holidays.
Acting Out provides a welcoming environment where LGBTQIA+ individuals can connect with others, express themselves creatively and build confidence through the performing arts. This school holiday edition will put the focus on screen, giving participants the opportunity to explore performance and screen-based storytelling in a supportive and collaborative setting.
The program is designed to create a space where young people can be creative, meet others and participate without feeling they need to change or hide who they are. One of the program facilitators, Amy Orman, will help guide participants through the program and support them as they explore their creativity and develop their skills.
Rebus Theatre is encouraging Canberra schools, teachers, wellbeing teams, youth workers and LGBTQIA+ community networks to share the opportunity with young people and families who may be interested.
