Apprentease is back to shine the spotlight

This amazing event shines a spotlight on new talent and semi-established solo artists keen to refine their skills and advance their performer profile.

This open level contest welcomes performers from all backgrounds and they are competing for their chance to win the Burlesque Excellence Award as well as prizes focused on their professional development including performance spots, mentorship, classes and costume items. All of our competitors will take home a fabulous goodie bag thanks to our incredible sponsors.

Solo performers from all backgrounds will compete in this open level contest, where contestants enter for their chance to win the Burlesque Excellence Award, Mentorship and Sponsored Prizes.

The Apprentease aims to strengthen the wonderful burlesque community through education, celebration, and industry support. Burlesque is the art of tease and a celebration of all bodies.

This is why it's so exciting to see so many different Canberrans represented in this competition. We have competitors from Belconnen, Tuggeranong, Woden, Gunghalin etc. we have mums, queers, public servants, everyone… they/thems wrecking mayhem… polite company you'd usually find working in the legislative assembly by day!

This competition is an opportunity for the local Canberra performers who've always wanted to dip a toe into the extravagant world of burlesque to do so!

The Apprentease ACT is run by State Producer, Jazida, and a brand new co-producer with Chocolate É Claire!

“I’m thrilled with the opportunity to be able to work with such an array of talent” says ‘Choccy’. “I’ve been a huge fan of Apprentease for a few years now, so to be able to have a say on who is chosen for this years show is such a dream come true!”
