CBR Pride Month Shoot 2023

For the second year, photographer Nathan J Lester celebrated Pride Month with a photoshoot outside Parliament House. While the day was about fun, pride, meeting friends and connecting with the queer community, Nathan says the shoot also helps draw attention to the LGBTIQ+ community and shows their message is ‘Loud and Proud’.

LGBTIQ+ Canberrans and allies gathered at Federation Mall in front of Parliament House in Canberra for a rainbow-inspired photoshoot. Capturing a sea of rainbows and glitter, photographer Nathan J Lester encouraged everyone to come out on chilly Canberra day to show their true colours, creating a human Pride flag.

While the day was about fun, pride, meeting friends and connecting with the queer community, Nathan says the shoot also helps draw attention to the LGBTIQ+ community and shows their message is ‘Loud and Proud’.

In Canberra, we’re lucky to be in a progressive place; however, across the world, members of the queer community still face prejudice. I'm proud to be able to support our vibrant and diverse community here in our Capital. - Nathan J Lester.
