Come To Daddy vows to come back “even gayer” after attack!

Come To Daddy, an LGBTQIA+ venue in Brisbane’s West End, was recently vandalised in an attack that targeted its pride bunting outside. Staff said someone set their pride flag display on fire.

The venue shared online that its visibility in the community was attacked by people who “don’t believe we should be here or exist” and promised to respond by being “even gayer”. They have also started fundraising to pay for better security cameras, lighting, and other safety upgrades.

Since opening in 2024, Come To Daddy has become a lively queer community space in Brisbane’s West End, offering trivia, karaoke, drag shows, and themed nights every week.

“Our visibility in the community was still attacked by those who don’t believe we should be here or exist”.

Come To Daddy has Come To Daddy vow to make the bar evein gayer, asking for donations of “bunting or small flags or other queer shit we can anchor off the steel lines we have outside”.
