A new play by showing at ACT Hub by Everyman Theatre 'If We Got Some More Cocaine I Could Show You How I Love You'. It’s all there in John O’Donovan’s title. It’s a mouthful, it’s slightly audacious and its verbosity immediately catches our attention.
Cocaine is a play about barriers and the incremental things we need to transcend them; drugs, sweets, alcohol, touch to get to a sense of emotional and physical intimacy where you can actually let the things you want to communicate come out, whether they’re verbal or not.
There’s a party to get to and Mikey and Casey have everything they need . . .
Booze. Cash. Drugs. Each other.
The only problem is they’re stuck. Stuck on a roof. Stuck together. And as they wait for the Guards to stop circling the house, they find out there are some truths you just can’t climb down from. A raucous and unlikely queer romantic drama – twenty feet up.
