Welcome to 1956, where the quiches are pristine, the cardigans are pressed… and every woman in the room might be harbouring a deliciously scandalous secret.
Everyman Theatre serves up the award-winning cult comedy 5 Lesbians Eating A Quiche by Andrew Hobgood & Evan Linder, directed by Jarrad West — a gloriously absurd, joyfully queer romp through Cold War paranoia, community-hall chaos, and the unbreakable bonds of sisterhood (and breakfast pastry).
When the Susan B. Anthony Society for the Sisters of Gertrude Stein convenes for their annual quiche breakfast, atomic dread mixes with forbidden desire, revelations fly thick and fast, and the women discover that nothing — not even the end of the world — can suppress who they truly are.
Packed with sharp satire, wild audience interaction, and more innuendo than you can shake a spatula at, this fast, funny, and fearlessly queer comedy is a guaranteed night of bite-sized bliss.
Prepare yourself, comrades… it’s time to eat the quiche.
